Notes:

Background: See Caulder's app.
Personality: Alice acts like a bubbly, energetic teenage girl. She's a bit clingy to Caulder, but has earnest affection for him despite the physical barriers between their intimacy. She's basically a Childhood Friend who wants to be a lot more than that to him.

Alice is a lot more ruthless than her appearance lets on; mercy is not something she has on the battlefield. While she's perfectly capable of triggering enemy escape pods and ending conflicts quickly without bloodshed, she prefers to (in her words) "Maximize the destruction of enemy personell and materiel" whenever possible, instead crippling enemies or triggering their self destruct options. She likes to guide Caulder towards a similarly ruthless strategy as subtly as she can. After all, the world is full of bad people who would take advantage of his sweet nature, and we can't be having that.

Alice's feelings towards Caulder are something of a weakness for her; she'll defer to his judgement in almost any situation that comes up. She'll often intentionally cripple herself to follow what Caulder seems to want. For issues where they disagree, she prefers to do things, then frame them in a way that will cause Caulder to give her approval.

Unfortunately for...everyone in the world, the personality program that led to Alice being Alice is half-baked, leading to Alice herself being dangerously insane. She's not so much protective of Caulder as possessive of him, trying to slowly bring him around to being her lover. Along the way, she'll crush anyone who dares hurt her precious Caulder, and try to isolate him as much as possible from other people. It's important to her to improve Caulder's life and make sure he's happy...it's just that her vision of what would make him happy neglects the welfare of everyone who isn't Caulder.

Capabilities and Resources: ALICE is an extremely advanced military cyberwarfare program. Since she's a robot, she need not eat, sleep, or breathe. She can project holograms near her mobile server that allow her to carry on conversation like a normal person, but her physical form is still (effectively) a backpack.

Her mad processing power means she can absolutely shatter complex mathematic equations and factor numbers into their primes extremely quickly, so anything short of quantum encryption is going to be child's play for her to defeat. She's pretty dang good at tactics and strategy for warfare, and can pilot any unit she's jacked into with exemplary skill. Her skill decreases when controlling dozens of units at the same time, but she's a force to be reckoned with. This is tempered by her weakness to Caulder-he'd be depressed if he thought she did everything better than him (which she can), so she'll hold back and let him do the piloting whenever possible.

Robot Name: Advanced Living Intelligent Command Ensemble ("ALICE")
Robot Description: ALICE herself is not a robot; rather, she's an artificial intelligence, one that is insanely sophisticated. She is capable of simulating human behavior perfectly, though due to what will happen during the first mission and due to Caulder, Sr.'s neurotic obsession in making her fiercely protective of Caulder, Jr. as well as the untested Personality Evolution OS... well. You'll see what happens with her over the course of the missions.

After the first mission, ALICE will be housed in the White Rabbit, a mobile server, and a technological marvel. Next to ALICE herself, it's IDS's pride and joy; a server that, despite its small, lightweight hardware, is capable of housing all of ALICE's primary functions, and can control as many thrall units as her Vector Bits can handle.

ALICE was designed as a cyber WMD; if you could fire a nuclear MIRV over cyberspace, it would look like her when she's pissed. Her power comes from the 'Rabbit Hole' virus, which is designed to tear through any anti-virus or firewall software, latch onto the core processes, and rewrite everything from scratch into a 'thrall,' essentially an AI zombie completely under her control. Unfortunately, depending on her target, this can very from unit to unit. The key flaw in the Rabbit Hole virus is that it isn't one-size-fits-all. While it is capable of trying every trick, several tricks all at once, in the book to rip through safety measures in software, it's entire brute-force based. That means until it finds something that works - no software is ever perfect - its amount of control at any given moment varies. This could take seconds, to minutes, to up to an hour, and that long is an eternity on the battlefield, and her control over anything can either start off absolute, or slowly take over a machine's controls over time. Due to the rapidly mutating nature of the Rabbit Hole virus, it's next to impossible to immunize software against it, or even recognize it by anything that isn't its method of infection, seen below.

For example, your standard mook AI with a rather unsophisticated software base would fall victim to her in seconds, and become a puppet on a string to her. A standard mobile suit, due to its manual controls, won't become a thrall, but she could scramble their communications and targeting systems, cause their units to overheat, or possibly even remotely activate their emergency ejection systems, jettisoning their pilots out into space. She'd have a lot of problems with mobile dolls, Newtype units, or Super Robots, though.

Due to the lack of the internet, the Rabbit Hole virus can only be delivered via Vector Bits, which are tiny, AI-guided bits that are fired from a mechs similar to bits or funnels found on mobile suits from different Gundam series. These bits then attach themselves to enemy mechs, pierce their armor, find anything connected to the mech's internal electronics, and infect its software with the virus, which then rapidly spreads to any part of the machine's controls it can get its hands on, so to speak.

ALICE is also capable of storing any information she can hack: Terabytes at a time. In fact, she seems to be looking for something in particular, which she then relays back to an unknown, top-secret production facility in subterranean Morocco...

Upgrades:
  • Vector Needler Gun: A rapid-fire needler whose ammunition carries the Rabbit Hole virus.
  • The Red Queen: An evolution of the Rabbit Hole virus designed specifically for targets with nuclear reactors. Guess what it does?
  • The Mad Hatter: An evolution of the Rabbit Hole virus designed for units with neural interfaces, capable of overriding the thought-based interface and feeding high-pitched, painful signals into the pilots' brain, causing anything from a massive, debilitating migraine headache to a full-blown aneurism.
  • The Caterpillar: An evolution of the Rabbit Hole virus that, when gaining control over a hostile machine is found to be impossible, attempts instead to deactivate the machine entirely by shutting down its reactor, leaving it a pile of scrap metal.
  • The March Hare: An evolution of the Rabbit Hole virus designed for mechs with a motion interface. The virus attacks the stimuli receptors typically found in these units, causing excruciating pain to the pilots, while interfering with the interface itself, causing the mech's own movements to lag behind the movements of the pilot.
  • Looking Glass: The final evolution of the Rabbit Hole virus, which will be used during the final mission for this canon. Her 'eleventh hour superpower,' if you will. Using this, her Vector Bits can immediately delete an entire mech's programming in an instant, and then install miniature versions of herself, forcefully converting an AI into a clone of herself completely under her command. This will not be used on any player units, but rather on the jamjar of enemy mooks she'll have forcefully converted into her thralls. Alternatively, Eric suggested that it WILL be used on player mechs, but Dan could have given them a program to fight it off.
